Back again with yet another way to enjoy the best beverage on earth (in my opinion)! Today I want to share with you how to use a Moka Pot to make espresso coffee at home!! No need for an expensive espresso machine, you can get the same results with this cutie. Let’s get into the details..

Prep the moka pot

  • Separate the top chamber from the bottom chamber.

  • Remove the filter.

Add water

  • Fill the bottom chamber with water, don’t go past the safety valve.

Grind your beans

  • Make sure to set your grinder to the course setting! A fine grind won’t work with the Moka Pot.

  • Fill the filter piece with coffee grounds to the top but make sure not to pack it.

put the moka pot back together

  • Insert the coffee filter into the bottom chamber.

  • Screw the top chamber back on, but not too tightly.

add heat

  • Turn on your stove, place the Moka Pot on it, and wait for it to start to boil.

  • When you start to hear a slight whistle, it’s almost there.

  • Coffee will start to pour into the top, once it slows down to an almost halt, remove the pot from the heat. This helps reduce the chance of burning the coffee.

enjoy your drink

Depending on how you like to drink your coffee, you can drink it black, or make it into a latte! I chose to make an iced miel latte (aka iced cafe miel)!
