TIPS FOR A HEALTHIER LIFESTYLE!

Over the past couple of years, I've made a lot of changes in my daily routine and especially in my diet, I wanted to be better, feel better, become more mindful of the choices I was making, and just all-in-all live a healthier lifestyle. This is something I'm constantly working on because there is always more ways to learn and grow, but I thought I would share with you some quick tips that I have applied towards my own life!

  • Find a water bottle you love and take it everywhere with you! This will help you to drink more water and will (hopefully) stop you from buying a pop or another sugary drink. This Hydro Flask is my favorite!!

  • Read the food labels on everything you're buying and bringing into your home. It's truly not about the calories in something, it's about what ingredients are in it and how it will nourish and serve your body! That's the most important thing and a great habit to get into. You'll want to watch out for things like high fructose corn syrup, modified milk ingredients, hydrogenated oils, and artificial colors and ingredients.

  • Add more veggies to your plate. This may look like adding carrot sticks or cucumber slices to your snack each day or making a smoothie with spinach or finding the one vegetable you like and adding that to your breakfast, lunch, and dinner, just get those veggies in!!

  • Keep your fridge, freezer, and pantry stocked with more whole foods, fruits, and vegetables, and less processed, packaged, and convenient foods. Try not to buy junk food, because if it's not in your home then you won't be as tempted to eat it when you're starving or in a pinch!

  • Find a healthier alternative to curb your sweet (or salty) tooth! Choose a piece of fruit instead of candy or make some popcorn on the stovetop instead of a bag of chips. Little changes like these can make such a difference!

  • Listen to your body. Pay attention to how it feels after eating a certain meal and how it affects your energy levels.

  • Throw out the toxic products in your home! I've written a couple of blog posts about natural household products and my favorite natural beauty products, but I just can't stress enough the importance of knowing what's in the products you're using on your body and in your home!

  • Get your body moving daily, whether that's bringing your dog for a walk, doing an at-home workout, or going to a workout class at the gym, it's so, so important! If I'm in a bad mood or feeling down about myself, exercising always, always, always makes me feel a million times better! Try it!

  • Try not to compare your life or your diet or your body to anyone else. I sometimes struggle with the comparison game and it honestly stinks and in the end, you only end up feeling worse. Everyone is different, we all have different bodies, lifestyles, wants, and needs and that's just how we were designed!

  • Bryana wrote an awesome blog post all about why we should stop comparing a couple of months ago.

I hope some of these tips were helpful to you! Keep in mind, it's not about having the perfect diet and lifestyle, because treating yourself and eating out is a fun part of life! It's about being mindful of your daily choices and doing what's best for you! See ya Thursday for a super exciting announcement!!
