Happy Friday, everyone! Today we are featuring the amazingly creative and talented owner of NineOStitch, Kelly! We absolutely love all of the beautiful pieces she’s designed and created, so we are thrilled to introduce you to her! Be sure to read all the way to the end of post because there is a pretty exciting giveaway happening!!

Tell us about yourself and how you started your Etsy shop, NineOStitch!

I am Kelly Jaeger. I have been married to my husband Jake for seven months and we have a one and a half year old German wirehaired pointer, Mila! I grew up in L’Anse, MI and after high school I went to Michigan Tech for Sports and Fitness Management. We now live in Iron Mountain, MI and I work full time at Bay College. Almost two years ago I bought a Janome sewing machine and started making bags for fun, and I fell in love! It is such a rewarding process! I kept wanting to make bags, so instead of keeping them all or gifting them, I decided to start and Etsy shop and try selling them! It has been just over a year since I opened my shop & I am so happy I did!

How long have you been sewing and creating?

Many years, but just recently started seriously sewing I would say! I had a small sewing machine growing up and would make sock monkeys, mittens, and key chains (at least those are what I can remember making). I have always considered myself crafty and creative!

What is your favorite piece to make?

I don’t think I have one favorite item, but I love making crossbody and tote bags. I love adding leather and metal rivets to the bags as the last steps and see them transform!

Where do you get inspiration from?

Oh gosh, everywhere and random things. Throughout the they day I think up bags I want to create and I swear some night I can’t sleep because I have so many ideas running through my head. For some of my bags I use patterns, so I get a ton of inspiration from the makers that created the patterns!

What are some of your goals and dreams for your business?

Short term, I plan on upgrading my sewing machine in the next couple months and creating some new bag patterns and hopefully leather bags! I would love to have a “line” of 10 or so products! Long term, I would love to have more time to dedicate to my small business and take the leap to focus on it part-time (instead of evenings and weekends only)! I dream of one day being a full time maker & sewist!

Where can people find you and your work?

You can visit my Etsy shop at nineostitch.etsy.com and follow me on Instagram and Facebook at @nineostitch to stay up to date on new products! If you have any questions you can email me at nineostitch@gmail.com.
