HALLWAY CLOSET MAKEOVER

Renovating is a long process that requires a whole lot of patience, for me at least. I think it's part of my Enneagram 7 personality, I just want to get things done and keep moving on to the next. So lately I have really been trying to appreciate the work we have done instead of thinking about what we have left to do.

Our focus during the renovation process is creating our home to be what we want but also being conscious of how much each thing costs. So instead of buying a closet insert, Brett made one!

Some things we were thinking of while designing the shelving was we wanted to be able to use the extra space above the door frame, so we put the shelf high enough to reach and be able to squeeze things into the space. (Anyone else feel like the tops of closets are such a waste sometimes? haha)

Another thing we wanted was a designated place for our vacuum to fit! We have a central vacuum system in our house which requires us to have this long hose which can be hard to store. Brett attached an iron pipe and the problem was solved! We now also have room for our step ladder, so when we need it we don't have to run out to the garage for it!

You guys are always talking about how you want organizational tips but to be honest, I'm far from being an expert.. I need the tips! haha!
There are two things that I think make a huge difference in this closet though, how I fold my towels is important to me. I'm a half and then in three, then in half again folder. (hopefully you followed that)
Second thing is get yourself some baskets to put all the random stuff in! It makes it look ten times cleaner and more organized, even though things are actually just thrown in there!

I love our little closet and even though it's never visible to people, it just makes me feel like or house is becoming our home! :)

Do you guys have any closet organizing tips for us?
